Soujourn Campus Church
Minneapolis, MN
Refresh, Exterior Canopy Addition
Size: 11,870 sqare foot remodel
Completed: June 2022
Sojourn Campus Church, situated within the dynamic University of Minnesota scene, faced a challenge of visibility and functionality. Its presence on campus was overshadowed, with visitors struggling to find their way through a narrow, uninviting lobby. Outdated classrooms and facilities further hindered the church's ability to engage with the community.
Station 19 Architects stepped in to breathe new life into Sojourn. Their approach was practical yet inspired, focusing on enhancing the church's identity and improving user experience. A modern canopy, adorned with subtle signage, now marks the entrance, signaling a fresh start. Inside, the lobby has been revamped with a clear focal point and improved lighting, making navigation a breeze. Classroom spaces have been updated for better functionality and aesthetics.
The collaboration with Station 19 Architects has brought tangible benefits to Sojourn Campus Church. No longer lost in the shuffle, the church now stands out as a welcoming beacon on campus. Navigating the space is intuitive and inviting, fostering a sense of belonging for both regulars and newcomers. With refreshed facilities and a renewed sense of purpose, Sojourn looks to the future with confidence and anticipation.
