Sheyboygan Evangelical Free Church
Sheboygan, WI
New Entry Addition and Remodel
Size: 24,594 square foot
Completed: June 2023
Sheboygan Evangelical Free Church faced a significant challenge with its outdated exterior, multiple building phases resulting in a disjointed structure, an unwelcoming lobby, and inaccessible lower-level spaces. Recognizing the need for transformation to better reflect their identity and engage with the community, the church sought the collaboration and expertise of Station 19 Architects.
Station 19 Architects proposed a comprehensive solution to address these challenges. The key elements of the plan included a new and inviting main entry addition with community-oriented signage and lighting, a redesigned central lobby for congregation gatherings, remodeled main-level classrooms focused on family and children's needs, and the installation of a new elevator for improved accessibility to the lower level.
Through this partnership, Sheboygan Evangelical Free Church now has a transformed entryway that not only showcases their identity but also welcomes the community with open arms. The large gathering area, equipped with clear wayfinding, facilitates meaningful connections among churchgoers and visitors alike. The updated and secure kids' areas were designed with the specific needs of children in mind, creating inviting spaces for younger members of the community. Furthermore, the addition of a new elevator ensures that everyone, regardless of mobility, feels welcomed and included. The collaboration with Station 19 Architects has not only revitalized the physical space of Sheboygan Evangelical Free Church but has also enhanced its ability to connect with and serve the community effectively.
