Remodel
Size: 46,000 square foot
Completed: May 2016
Minnesota Adult and Teen Challenge invited Station 19 to transform this vacated 30-year-old nursing home into a relevant 100-bed men’s residential and outpatient facility that had the refined feel of the neighboring Mayo Clinic facilities, but on a much lower budget!
Work focused on creating a “guy-friendly” environment with updated finishes and furnishings, room layout, and upgrading the existing on-site food prep and service. The old nursing stations were replaced with comfortable, tech-friendly lounges. Showers were efficiently added to each of the resident rooms to minimize cost and replace obsolete central bathing stations. A new welcoming lobby was designed to make visitors and new arrivals feel at ease and learn about the history, programs, and principles of Minnesota Adult & Teen Challenge.
