Eden Prairie Assembly of God
Eden Prairie, MN
Addition/Remodel
Size: 12,000 square feet addition/4,000 square feet remodel
Completed: November 201
Eden Prairie Assembly of God (EPAG) reached out to Station 19 Architects to help them discover why their current facility might be hindering their ministry growth. Through Station 19’s Strategic Master Planning process, we were able to assess their existing space, how it was being used and what specific features or functions of the space were supporting the ministry’s mission and goals.
Through that discovery process, we found that the worship space was indeed large enough to accommodate future growth. We also found the parking lot would offer plenty of stalls to support the growth they were looking for. The classroom spaces for children and youth ministries, however, were small, dark, and cramped. The lack of space, light, and natural flow was a deterrent for young families.
Out of this Strategic Master Planning process, Station 19 partnered with the church to create the solution that their community needed for their ministry growth challenges. We designed a 12,000 square foot addition and a 4,000 square foot remodel that added a new, light-filled main-level lobby space leading to a secure check-in for the kids’ ministry area. The new education area included a brightly colored nursery and large group meeting areas for adults, teens, and children.
Thanks to the time-tested processes of Station 19 and to the leadership of the church who saw a problem and were resolved to find the right answer, EPAG now has the capacity to offer safe, fun, engaging education to any family walking through their doors. This new and remodeled space has built up their community and equipped them for growth.
